How to Get Rid of Premature Gray Hair?
Eliminate These Annoying Irritants
Gray hair is not a problem limited to the aging population. Even young people can be susceptible to it.
The natural color of our hair is caused by Melanin. As we age the production of melanin reduces causing our hair to turn gray. This graying process is sometimes escalated by environmental pollutants, genetics and hormones.
There are many dyes available in the market but these harsh chemicals are harmful for our hair.
Here are a few natural remedies that can help you get rid of gray hair.
- Coffee –
Brew a pot of strong coffee and let it cool down. Once it is cooled add two cups of hair conditioner to it and mix it. Apply it to your hair and leave it on for an hour before rinsing it with cool water.
- Tea –
Use black tea for darker hair colors, rooibos for red hues and chamomile for blondes. Soak 4 to 5 teabags in two cups of boiling water and then let it cool. Add conditioner to this and apply it to your hair letting it rest for an hour. Wash it away with cool water.
- Potato peels –
Boil two cups of water, add one cup of potato peel to it and let it simmer for at least 25 minutes. Strain the peels and let the water cool down. Add a few drops of essential oil to it. After shampooing and conditioning you hair, part your hair into sections and pour this mixture onto the sections, rinse after an hour.

It is a potent antioxidant found in all plants and animal cells. Consumption of food such as cauliflower, potato, broccoli, cabbage, onions and garlic which are high in catalase helps in fighting gray hair and brings back our youthful charm.
