Bleeding gums are the first of the signs of a gum disease and treating it at the earliest is very crucial.
Try these easy yet effective home remedies that can help you treat bleeding gums and bring back that flashy smile of yours.
- Clove oil –
Clove oil is rich in phenolic compounds like eugenol that has antibacterial and inflammatory properties. Mix two drops of oil with one teaspoon of coconut oil.
Apply this mixture directly to your bleeding gums and leave it on for 5 – 10 minutes before rinsing. Repeat twice daily.
- Salt water –
Salt is high in anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties which helps reducing the swelling and inflammation of gums, it also combats infections that cause bleeding gums.
Add one teaspoon salt to one glass of warm water and mix well. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with this water. Repeat 2-3 times a day.
- Honey –
Honey is antibacterial and fights infections that cause the gums to bleed. It is also high in healing and anti-inflammatory properties. Take some honey on your fingertips and massage it gently on to your gums for some time.
Repeat twice daily.
- Lemon juice –
The antibacterial properties of lemons helps fight bacterial infections causing bleeding gums and its anti-inflammatory properties helps in healing the swelling of the gums.
Squeeze juice of one lemon and mix it with a cup of water. Use this mixture to rinse your mouth after every meal.
